Peach Aviation Refund Experience: Cancelled Flight, Happy Customer

If you were to ask me about my scheduled trips that were messed up by the Covid-19 pandemic, it would be Japan. The Land of the Rising Sun could easily top my personal favorite among the nine (9) international destinations I’ve been to for the past twelve months. Japan truly captivated my heart with its beautiful culture, amazing landscapes and delectable cuisines, prompting me to plan a return trip the minute I landed back in Cebu fresh from my 1 week Autumn trip to 10 Prefectures in Japan. In fact, I reapplied for a Japan tourist visa last January and luckily granted a staggering 10-year Multiple Entry visa for stay of 90 days maximum.

With so much determination to explore more prefectures during my next visit, it’s not surprising that I booked another trip to Japan, not just one, but seven separate flights ~ April (Cebu to Osaka via Manila / Nagoya to Cebu via Taipei) and May (Cebu to Tokyo / Sapporo to Cebu via Tokyo). For my Holy Week trip in April, I booked flights via AirAsia and trip.com for the first time. For my May trip, I successfully booked PISO FARE round trip international flights (Cebu to Tokyo to Cebu) from Cebu Pacific Air and a domestic flight (Hokkaido to Tokyo) with Peach Aviation, a low cost carrier based in Japan.

Consequently, both trips were cancelled in response to the spread of Covid-19 around the world. Next steps? I can choose among the following options: Rebook to another travel period, claim for a refund or convert flight bookings to a travel fund (e-wallet/ credit account). In my previous posts, I wrote how I successfully processed the travel fund from Cebu Pacific Air without hassle and blogged about my challenges in communicating my flight concerns to trip.com and AirAsia. This time, I would like to share my positive experience in processing a refund with Peach Aviation.
