V for Victory: Vivomigsgee.com Bags Best Cebu Photo Blog 2020 Award

November 2020 is full of surprises. It’s the third week of November when a series of good news has arrived on a daily basis. The world has received some positive news about the 90% effectivity of the first Covid-19 vaccine against the virus. My second of four webinars has resumed since its debut in September. My fave childhood animated series is now on Netflix. My pet dog Avalanche is finally pregnant for the first time. The list goes on.

Now, I’m ending this week full of plot twists with another blessing as my humble blog, www.vivomigsgee.com has bagged the “Best Cebu Photo Blog of 2020” Award given by Best Cebu Blogs Awards, the only award giving body that acknowledges the existence of #TopCebuBloggers and digital media movers in the Visayas and in PH.

V for Victory

Upon reading my name in the article published by BCBA on the announcement of #BCBA2020 winners, I’m actually speechless. For a brief moment, everything flashed back wonderfully. All that “quarantine” hard work (e.g., weekly updating of blog), while juggling multiple tasks (e.g., 3-part CIA exam, masteral requirements for three semesters, and work deliverables), has finally paid off.

I wrote an article last month about my BCBA journey for five years and expressed my appreciation to all my friends and families for the love and support. Now that I finally won this prestigious award, I couldn’t thank enough all the beautiful people who genuinely supported me through my Best Cebu Blogs Awards battle this year, for without their tremendous help, I wouldn’t have made it this far to be honest. This recognition is dedicated to everyone who believed in me.

“Nana Korobi, Ya Oki” — a Japanese proverb which roughly translates to “Fall down seven times, stand up eight..”

Applying it to my personal experience (blog-wise), this speaks a lot about accepting defeat, improving your craft and not giving up. For 4 years of Best Cebu Blogs Awards consecutive nomination, I lost the title three times, but finally won the fourth one (when it matters most). I know I still have a lot to improve on my blogging and photography skills. I’m just happy to know that I can do wonders with my articles and I will do my best to keep on inspiring people thru my content.

Even though there is no awards night this year, it didn’t stop me from dressing up as one of the “Top Cebu Bloggers” and doing some solo crazy photo ops with my BCBA 2020 trophy.

So yes, let me conclude this article by sharing that in life, there are no quick fixes and anything of real worth will necessarily take much struggle and perseverance. “Success” does not have to be fast—what’s more important is that one simply does their absolute best and remains persistent.

You do not always have to win, but you must never give up. Do your best in achieving your dreams. You can do it as long as you keep on fighting!
