Villa Tuscany: Exclusive Mountaintop Accommodation in Cebu for Family Staycation
If there’s one thing that summarizes my month of June for this year, it would be “celebration”.
2021’s mid-year was very hectic, started with a grueling thesis oral defense, followed by a research forum and thesis publication, getting my first dose of Covid vaccine, and finally, the most important one, my master’s graduation. Needless to say, these are personal milestones that are once-in-a-lifetime happenings and are worth celebrating for. With these, the next item on the agenda would be the venue.
In my mind, I really planned of doing a one-time big-time celebration in an intimate place with an infinity pool wherein my family and I can stream the commencement rites via Facebook live on a big television and have my picture taken beside it wearing my toga. I know it sounds silly but with all the crazy things happening around the world, this set-up is something I really wanted to achieve to make my celebration meaningful.
Through research, I found Villa Tuscany online and I knew right then and there it could be the perfect place for my planned graduation slash celebration slash staycation or “GradCation” for short (I just made it up!). Without hesitation, I booked the whole place on the day of my graduation and the rest is history.
This is not a paid review. I just want to share how beautiful and staycation-worthy Villa Tuscany is. So, without further ado, let’s take a virtual tour inside Villa Tuscany, an exclusive mountaintop accommodation in Cebu.
House Façade
Villa Tuscany is a landmark on its own. It is described by the owner and previous guests as the white house by the hill (well, white is the prominent color from afar). It is the lone house in the area with no neighbors in sight. This gated-villa was carefully designed with inspiration from the landscape views of Tuscany region in Italy.
Vestibule
Upon entry, you’ll be welcomed by a warm and brightly-decorated vestibule before you’ll be introduced to the main areas of the villa. Here, you’ll have an initial feel of what you’re about to experience inside Villa Tuscany.
Infinity Pool
One of the main features of Villa Tuscany is the infinity pool with an amazing view of the skyline and surrounding natural rolling hills. It is 27 square meters long and 4 to 6 meters deep with a chic design. Pool floaters are also available for guests to use. Added points: The host cleans the pool with chlorine and chemicals before and after every guest stay so you don’t have to worry about its cleanliness.
Living Room
Aside from the infinity pool, a living room with a curved LCD smart television is really non-negotiable for me. It is a cozy place complete with entertainment features such as cable tv channels and netflix, Xbox360 with Kinect games, JBL Cinema, bluetooth Philips soundbar and other appliances. Oh, the wifi connection is pretty fast too.
The spacious living room has a ceiling fan, stand fan and tower fan that will surely beat the heat as they are sufficiently powerful to cool the entire living room with no air conditioning, even when the air gets humid. For your ultimate comfort, it’s best to just open the sliding door leading to the pool so that the fresh breeze from the mountains can come in.
Kitchen
In the kitchen, you’ll find a lot of appliances such as gas range stove top, portable bbq grill, rice cooker and utensils such as pots, pans, cutleries, mugs and glasses as well as cooking essentials (oil, salt, pepper, some spices). One complimentary free 5-gallon serving of mineral water is also provided per booking. Did I mention it has a two-door refrigerator wherein you can cool your food, desserts and beverages?
Dining Area
The glass top dining table is a 8-seater wood-base furniture with a huge space for your food. As this is a self-service villa, feel free to bring your groceries and cook your own food at the kitchen. You can actually bring whatever food and beverages you like with no corkage. The host advises all guests to do their groceries before check in because malls are 15 minutes drive from the place.
Staircase
There are four bedrooms upstairs but only 3 can be used by guests (the Master’s Bedroom is locked for storage purposes). Upon reaching the corridor of the second floor, you’ll find a big teddy bear which is too cute to miss. When you see the teddy bear, please hug it for me!
Bedroom 1
Located at the first floor, this is the only guest room with a pool view. You can find one queen-size bed with a dedicated toilet and shower area. What I love about the room (all rooms actually) is the provision of hotel-quality linens, towel, bedsheet, duvet and pillow cases.
Bedroom 2
The first room upstairs is called queen bed mountain view room. It guarantees a relaxing view of nature that is soothing to your senses. With that dedicated air-conditioner and duck down and feather duvet, you’ll surely have an uninterrupted cool sleep.
Bedroom 3
The second bedroom at the second floor also offers a stunning mountain view. The only difference is that it has two twin bedrooms in it for non-couples or friends.
Bedroom 4
This room is called Balcony View Room. It is the biggest room among the guest rooms at the second floor and the only room not-restricted for guest that has access to the terrace. Each room has a wardrobe cabinet with hangers and a mirror. There are also blackout curtains in all bedrooms for deep sleep.
Balcony / Terrace
The balcony is connected to the guest room at the second floor. Here you can marvel at the 180 degrees panoramic view of the city, mountain and sky or chill at night while counting the stars or take a photograph of the milky way spectacle.
Powder Room/ Bathroom / Comfort Rooms
There is a powder room in the first floor while there is one full bathroom in the second floor. There is a hazy glass partition for the toilet and shower area so two guests can use the bathroom simultaneously, if warranted. Shampoo and body wash are also provided.
Porch / Garden
Even when you are about to leave Villa Tuscany, you’ll never miss the beautifully landscaped garden and stone-decorated pathway towards the porch. There is a CCTV at the left-side corner for security purposes. There is also a free parking space outside or at the gated carport.
How to Get to Villa Tuscany
Villa Tuscany is located in the highlands of Consolacion, Cebu. It is pretty secluded on top of a mountain with nearly no neighborhood around. One can get there thru private vehicle or hire a habal2x driver to take you to the location. Concluding Statement
Overall, our stay at Villa Tuscany was one for the books. I can totally say I had an epic “GradCation” with expectations really met. Thanks to PJ, who is really a great host, who replied instantly and timely updates (with manuals and photos), as deemed necessary. All details were clear cut so all information were provided in advance. Check in and check out were smooth and no problem whatsoever encountered during our stay. The facilities of the villa are without a doubt extraordinary with complete and state-of-the-art amenities. Highly recommended for exclusive family or friends staycation! I can’t wait to rent again the whole house for some upcoming celebrations.
