Coron Ultimate Tour: Seven Stunning Spots Including Twin Lagoon + Kayangan Lake

Coron is calling… and I must go!

Who could resist the beauty of Coron, Palawan? Recognized as one of the best islands in the world, Coron continues to emerge as a top destination worldwide as a confluence of natural beauty, trendy glamour, great history, and iconic seascapes. Synonymous with a prolific paradise, Coron is blessed with a plethora of must-see wonders, individually showcasing stunning attractions to visit and fun activities to do.

Faced with a lot of tour offerings in Coron, it’s not surprising if it leaves you overwhelmed. If you’re visiting Coron for a short time, Coron Ultimate Tour is the one you shouldn’t miss booking. It’s a combination of Tour A and Tour B highlighting the best attractions in each tour. The duration of each trip per tourist spot is much shorter compared to other tours as Coron Ultimate Tour packs everything in one optimum itinerary.

Here’s a visual diary of our experience in Coron Ultimate Tour highlighting seven stunning spots including Twin Lagoon and Kayangan Lake among others.

Kayangan Lake

If there’s one thing associated with Coron that’s unique to the place, that would be limestone karst. Coron is blessed with abundance of natural geological formations that is scattered around the archipelago such that wherever your waywaring feet lead you around Coron, the iconic backdrop remains naturally breathtaking.

Let’s take a cue from Kayangan Lake’s majestic limestone karst. Beyond the seemingly endless verdant terrain and ginormously fascinating rock formations surrounded by the turquoise ocean, a beautiful destination awaits.

Kayangan Lake is by far the most popular destination in Coron. The water is said to be the clearest and cleanest in the Philippines and for all good reason. In order to reach Kayangan Lake, you’ll endure a short steep climb wherein your stamina will be tested. You’ll start off with a wooden walkway that will lead you to the foothills and start ascending.

From its highly elevated viewpoint, you’ll get a glimpse of the iconic Coron Bay. Don’t leave Kayangan Lake without a mandatory shot of this must-see spot.

Twin Lagoon

Twin Lagoon is such a divine spot that you wouldn’t want to miss when you visit Coron. This paradise leaves tourists in awe, stunning them with its unspoiled beauty.

The name itself promises revelers and sun chasers that they will get not only one but two lovely treats! On one side, kayaking is a must-do activity.

On the other side of the lagoon, the unique rock formations will stun you with its natural allure. Feast your eyes on some on the lush scenery Twin Lagoon is rightly renowned for.

Nestled in the emerald-hue embrace of biotic-filled limestone karst on the middle of a serene lagoon, a boulder stands out in stately style. Yes, the most notable feature in this side of Twin Lagoon is a huge rock that will safely stage your groufies. Say cheese!

Twin Lagoon is a place where you’ll be honed to master the art of floating in the water. It’s part of the journey when visiting Twin Lagoon I tell you.

When the tide is low, and if you’re brave enough, you can try to pass through lagoon B from lagoon A by floating (more like crawling) your way into a sharp-edge arch. It’s totally a challenging feat but once you successfully crossed the underwater passage, it will give you an inexplicable satisfaction. Totally a must-ty!

Balinsasayaw Beach

Balinsasayaw Beach is a small cove boasting white sand beach adorned with picnic huts designed specifically to accommodate island hoppers for lunch. Set in a secluded spot, be yourself ‘coz nobody really doesn’t mind if you eat like a King!

The aquamarine water is so clear, it will lure you to swim a minute or two after enjoying your sumptuous lunch. Reserve a space in your tummy for round two!

Skeleton Wreck

Upon approaching Skeleton Wreck dive site, everything seems pretty normal at plain sight. But once we rolled over the side into the waters, then you’ll know a beautiful wonder is waiting down below.

Skeleton Wreck pertains to the Japanese warship submerged at the bottom of the site. It is said to be hit by an airstrike during WWII by US airforce. It is already encrusted with corals and barnacles where colorful fishes are freely swimming around with scuba divers and tourists snorkeling on the surface.

Malwawey Beach

Beyond wreck diving, Coron offers an unassertive & promising appeal for all tourists. Let’s take for example Malwawey Beach. You don’t need to go further as this stunning beach is just a butterfly stroke away from Skeleton Wreck. It’s perfect for guests who are tired from snorkeling or free diving and just want to feel the paradise vibe of Malwawey Beach.

CYC Beach

CYC stands for Coron Youth Club. Interestingly, CYC Beach is an islet with a long stretch of sand adorned with mangroves and verdant foliage. Entrance is FREE by the way so you can do sunbathing, play volleyball or just chill out by the sandy beach listening to your fave music.

You can also see another interesting feature at CYC Beach – a floating store. An improvised retailer riding a small boat will approach every boat that docks in the area and sell junk foods/chips, cold drinks and even ice candy at reasonable prices

If you’re done munching on your snack, head out into the clear blue waters with your snorkels ‘coz beautiful corals await in the coral garden near the beach. This is reminiscent of the equally stunning ‘Coral Garden’ of Black Island in Busuanga.

Appreciate the beauty of another Coral Garden at BLACK ISLAND.

Siete Pecados

Siete Pecados (or Isles of the Seven Sins) is a small set of islands located halfway between Coron Island and mainland of coron town (just across Maquinit Hot Springs). It is always included in Coron ABCD tours.

While it seems regular at normal view, you have dive into the water to experience an underwater bliss. It is known for having great diving and snorkeling spots which leave island hoppers in awe.

Barracuda Lake (BONUS ITINERARY)

Barracuda Lake is not usually included in Coron Ultimate Tour. Unless you booked a Coron SUPER Ultimate Tour or you were mixed with another group who paid for additional fee to include Barracuda Lake, then your boat will most likely visit this gem. Lucky for you!

You can take photo ops in its entrance where a wooden sign board “Luluyuan Lake” is conspicuously hanged on the edge of the sharp karst.

Overall, our Coron Ultimate Tour was a blast. Each one of us have our own personal favorites. My mom liked Malwawey Beach ‘coz it didn’t involve too much swimming or climbing, my nephew was mesmerized with CYC Beach chillax vibe and nearby coral garden, my father’s favorite is Kayangan Lake’s clear waters, my sister and her friend love Twin Lagoon and I was personally smitten by Siete Pecados diving activity. To sum it all up, Coron Ultimate Tour is totally one for the books!
