A Year Like No Other: 15 Valuable Things That I’m Grateful For This 2020
A YEAR LIKE NO OTHER: That’s how I’d summarize my 2020.
“What are the things that you are grateful for this 2020?”, a close friend of mine candidly asked me one time. “A lot, but I’ll save them for my entry in the year-end essay writing contest.”, I jokingly replied.
No. I was actually dead serious. So, here it goes.
Last 2018, when I first started sharing my year-end gratitude post, I highlighted some of my life milestones ranging from managerial promotion to TV and magazine exposure. Last 2019, I felt like I really haven’t achieved much other than experiencing four seasons in four different Asian countries in one full year. I even claimed that “2018 was good. 2019 is better. 2020 will be the best.”
The entire universe conspired and granted my heart’s desires this 2020 multiple times. It’s been a whirlwind ~ a year full of challenges and wrong turns (God knows I’ve mastered the art of failure), yet full of rewards. Although it isn’t a perfect journey, encountered a lot of roadblocks (even personal storms) along the way, but I choose to focus on the road, the experience, the lessons learned, on simple joys and blessings that truly matter.
Beyond good health and peace of mind, this year has been filled with plot twists and surprises but the following are my favorites, to wit:
TRAVEL
– 10 year Multiple Entry Japan Tourist Visa
– 1st Tri-country Trip (amidst the pandemic)
– FREE round-trip tickets for 2021 travels
CAREER
– Job regularization (new company)
– Certified Internal Auditor
– Certification in Risk Management Assurance
BLOG / SOCIAL MEDIA
– Best Cebu Photo Blog 2020 Winner
– 1st Adsense payout (after a long hiatus)
– Continued collab with various PR teams
PERSONAL
– Excellent grades for ALL subjects this year
– 4 speaking engagements (DOT webinars)
– Own condominium unit
LOVE
– Avalanche Plus Two 🐺
– More time with my family in Cebu
– Me and my jowa, waohh ❤️
2020 is definitely my year. I claim it in the mighty name of Jesus. AMEN!
Likewise, I will never get tired of saying my appreciation to everyone who helped me achieved these milestones, who prayed for my success and showed some love and support along the way. A HUGE THANK YOU to all my allies! I will surely root for each one of you. I will give my support 100% and celebrate your future successes as well. Together, let’s never stop chasing our own season.
